Oath

Japanese composer Ken-ichiro Isoda brings together environmental recordings, electronics and acoustic instrumentation on Epilogue. Older compositions are reconstructed with fresh contributions from Dogen Kinowaki, Tsutomu Sonoda, Tatsuro Murakami and Aiko Takahashi, while recordings of birds, forests and water connect the music to Isoda’s home on Hachijō-jima. Pieces including ‘TANEKOMA’, ‘STEPS’, ‘WATERWAYS’ and ‘A Flowering Tree’ move between ambient electronics, contemporary classical composition and delicate instrumentation, drawing past work into Isoda’s present-day musical world.
