Originally released on Mark Ernestus and Moritz von Oswald's Chain Reaction label in 1999, Hallucinator's Landlocked is compiled onto a 2LP for the first time. Created by London trio Anna Piva, Edward George and Trevor Mathison, the album became a quietly influential early dub techno release, built from deep bass, echo, fractured rhythms and carefully sculpted space. Across twelve tracks, sounds fade in and out with hypnotic precision, creating an atmosphere that values silence as much as texture. Beneath its abstract surface sits a dedication to the memory of Stephen Lawrence, lending the music a lasting emotional resonance. More than 25 years on, Landlocked remains a distinctive work of immersive, minimalist electronic music.
