EMERALD TABLET" and "Echoes" were recorded in 1978 at NHK's Electronic Music Studio by Sohmei Sato, a master of Japanese contemporary music history, and released on Kojima's ALM Records. This is an analogue reissue on one LP from WRWTFWW Records! "EMERALD TABLET" was created by overdubbing harmonics of sounds composed of tubular bells, cymbals and Buddhist bells. EMERALD TABLET" was created by overdubbing harmonics consisting of tubular bells, cymbals, and Buddhist bells. It is Sato's unique fusion of tape music and music concretes. "Echoes" was composed for an event held by the Kawaji Onsen Tourism Association in Tochigi Prefecture from May 20 to 29, 1981. Eight huge loudspeakers were set up on a hill surrounding a stream, and the music was played on an eight-channel tape system, with cables connected to the loudspeakers extending over a kilometer!
