WIRELESS SIGHT "ENDLESS DARK DREAM", which was originally released on cassette tape by Vanity Records in 1981, is the first independent CD. WIRELESS SIGHT is a project by Wakae Qunie, who publishes the mini comic magazine "Wireless Landscape".
Established in 1978, Vanity Records captures the cutting-edge music trends of the same era, such as a new band that has been active with values since punk and an alternative approach of musicians who have gone through band activities. However, in the release from 1981, the direction of "INDUSTRIAL MYSTERY MUSIC = industrial mystic music" is strongly set out.
This direction was declared in the compilation album "MUSIC" released in December 1980, which recorded carefully selected sound sources from a large number of cassette tapes sent to the editorial department of Rock Magazine, and its vision as a single work. It was tolerance "divin" released on LP in March 1981, but in subsequent label works, it was released on cassette to convey the latest music trends of the times with a sense of speed. Was selected, and this work was also announced in this context and form.
The original of this work was released independently, but it was also released as a part of a 6-piece cassette box called "Noise Box", which was announced with the meaning of "noise group as a landscape of the times". It is interesting that it is.
This work "ENDLESS DARK DREAM" is a quiet musical work spelled only by piano, metronome, and radio noise, and the repetitive elements often found in "Noise Box" recordings can be found by the operating sound of the metronome. The presence of things is sparse (just as we usually don't notice the sound of the second hand), a piano that is dropped like a discreet raindrop, and a radio noise that appears hazy like a pattern left on the ground. Rather, it sounds like a high-purity realization of "music as furniture," which is one of the policies Vanity Records envisioned at the time of its inauguration. Since the same content was recorded on the AB side of the cassette, we can see the desire to settle in the space by loop playback and eventually reach an unconscious existence.
