The debut release from new talent John Glacier on PLZ Make It Ruins, the label run by Frank Ocean collaborator Vegyn. The enigmatic artist says she chose her name because she is "cold as ice". Punk, poetic verses and sharp electronic pop songs, all at once intuitive and delicate. This debut album, co-produced with label owner Vegyn, is what she calls a "selfish" record, documenting "how I feel, what I'm going through, and how I want to live my life. This album is a document of healing and evolution that she has been working on for a year. Each song is a reflection of a moment captured in time, showing us a different face of John Glacier. She explains herself, "Each song creates a completely different space, but the common theme of the album is one of reflection and processing, like chipping away at ice." She herself explains. If Anything," a track that was released earlier in the year and is recommended for fans of Baths and Avalanches, "Cryptomnesia," a cool song with clear, detailed electronics and a punkish, lo-fi beat, and "I Want to Party All Night," a track that floats in the air.
