MUST!!!!! This is the latest release from Blank Forms, a curatorial platform and non-profit organization dedicated to the presentation and preservation of experimental performance, and one of the most respected reissues of works by Catherine Christer Hennix and Masayuki Takayanagi. The Swedish musician, who has already unearthed three works from archival recordings from the 1970s, is a female composer, philosopher, poet, mathematician, and musician who pursued the minimalist path after meeting La Monte Young and Pandit Pran Nath, and later collaborated with Henry Flynt. First performed on April 22, 2014, and first released on CD in 2016, this is her first analog release! The ensemble includes Amir ElSaffar, Hilary Jeffery, Robin Hayward, and a host of vocalists, wind instruments, and electronics players, and is performed live in the Issue Project Room. The sustained sounds of the band, the bewitching crack of the brass that rises and falls, and the fervor of the chorus that seems to see into the depths of mystery... It's wonderful in every way! Every time the sounds overlap, it's as if a door opens to a deeper and deeper place... This is a drone masterpiece that is well worth a peek. High quality pressing by RTI.
