Japanese composer Takuma Watanabe, known for his work on numerous film scores and collaborations with big names 相対性理論, UA and David Sylvian, has released his latest album "Last Afternoon" on LP and CD. The album is a collection of ensemble works by string players and computers, and also features guest artists such as Akira Rabelais and Joan La Barbara, both of whom are talented avant-garde musicians. The ensemble also includes cellist Seigen Tokuzawa, who has worked with such luminaries as Osamu Sato, Ryuichi Sakamoto, and World's End Girlfriend, as well as Atsuko Hatano, a string player who is sought after by the likes of Yumbo, Yuta Orisaka, and Kid Fresino. The mastering is by Jim O'Rourke (!!!). This is a modern classical masterpiece that can be said to be the midpoint between Tim Hecker's "Konoyo" and Helios.
